This section outlines the descent of the Lovelace and Gorsuch families to Alice Vernon Wilson. It starts further back in England than some of the other descents, because both families have some interesting people there to profile. It begins with William Lovelace, who died in 1577, who was a Member of Parliament, Counsel to the Cinque Ports, and is buried in Canterbury Cathedral. It winds through several generations of political and poetic Lovelaces before joining with the Gorsuch family, moving to Virginia, becoming Quaker, moving to Maryland, uniting with the Stansburys and Wilsons, and finally moving on to New Orleans. The descent is 12 generations in all. Click on the link to read.
